TIL deletes my post about Bill Clinton bombing Iraq in 1993 because "Hilary is still active, so TILs about Bill can't be posted."

One way to spread this fact is to provide a link to /r/internetPR

I'm sure you can imagine a few scenarios where you could work this link into the conversation.

The more people who know about shills, the less effective the shills are. Also, I don't think it's accurate to say "masses of people paid to upvote/downvote certain posts." If you check out the information in the sub I just linked, they use sophisticated software which makes it easy to upvote and downvote certain things. They mask the IP to avoid detection by admins and have tons of accounts. So, it's not 10,000 shills doing this. It's 100 shills who each have 100 accounts, and tons of companies/governments have their own shills. Some accounts are used only for voting, some accounts are used for content, and they also have accounts they use for both. I've noticed people talking to themselves with other accounts. Typically, they will post a comment, then log into another account and say something like "exactly, blah, blah." It usually starts with "exactly" or "I agree." Fucking pathetic if you ask me. They probably also use certain accounts as devil's advocates so they can control the conversation the way they want it.

It's 2015, so I'm sure this is pretty advanced by now. They probably select certain things to be upvoted or downvoted over time so they don't have to keep going back to push a comment down. Say they expect a comment to be well-received by the general Reddit community, and they want to suppress that comment. They would have to keep going back to check it and use a few burner accounts to downvote it, since it would be obvious what happened if they downvoted it all at once with all 100 accounts. I'm sure certain companies aren't this advanced, but I would be surprised if this wasn't occurring on some level.
