Have you told your employer?

Oh, wow, that’s a tough question to answer, especially if you’re working in the US.

I’ve told every employer I’ve had — none accepted it particularly well but I do it to protect myself legally just in case …because that’s my right — but I was also diagnosed with severe PTSD after I was unceremoniously and disgracefully forced out of my job in 2017 after I first received my MS diagnosis.

Peak of my career, top performer in the state in my field and I felt like a dead woman walking for months as my employer ratcheted up the hostility to force me out … and I was sooooo sick, still recovering from my first real MS episode. Shit was bleak and toxic af.

My next job suffered due to both my MS and my new PTSD diagnosis due to a boss who basically believed invisible disability was a synonym for stupid and lazy, despite being the most qualified candidate for the job that she personally recruited me for.

I was put through the wringer there for a few years.
