you're wrong about calvin. he is a big part of the reason why detroit is a dumpster fire. watch him on the sidelines. he really doesnt give a fuck and hasnt since the season opened. he is there for the paycheck, not the passion. when you have a leader that has "checked out" like he has, the organization slides downhill fast. As they say, "kill the head and the body will die." And that's what we're seeing here. when you are one of the few $10/mil year players on a team, you have to bring more to the table than individual skill. you have to make those around you better. I have often felt that Dez was a bit too hot headed and still needed some maturity, but witness how sad Terrence Williams was and what he said about losing Dez: "he helps me get my mind right." That is everything!!! Dez inflames his teammates and gets them to concentrate and pour themselves into their game. Brady gets his players to elevate themselves mentally and from a preparation standpoint. Ray Lewis's squad would have followed him into hell to fight the devil. But Calvin? Well, you watch him on the sidelines and you tell me what you see. Does this look like a man who gives two shits? one shit? Does this look like a man who is getting the minds right of the men around him so that they can go into battle with passion? He spends the entire game listlessly shuffling around by himself. Gee Calvin, ya think ya might want to hunch over a clipboard with your QB and have a chat about what you see out there? You think you might want to stoke up Ebron a bit, and bring him along? Ya think ya might want to slap a few hands and backs and asses and fire some people up? Did you see Anquan Boldin barking support out to his D from the sidelines on sunday night? Calvin is still big and strong and fast and is running his routes, but thats only enough when youre 2nd string. When youre the face of the franchise and you've checked out, this is what you end up with. a dumpster fire. and calvin cant be bothered to give a fuck.
