Total Wine & More sues Connecticut over minimum pricing rules

No one can answer how many there will be. Could be one in every town, could be one in every county. We also have to consider that once the price-fixing is lifted, other liquor megastores might set their eyes on CT and create competition for Total Wines.

As far as how many people will drive to the large chain, it's hard to say. I'm guessing about the same it is right now. I think for a town about the size of Norwalk, that has about 2 dozen liquor stores (Not to mention supermarkets that sell beer), some of those liquor stores will close due to competition from the large chains. But not all of them. The impact on resident consumers will be negligible. Meaning some of them will be forced to drive an extra 2 minutes further to the nearest liquor store. Big whoop. Anyone willing to drive out of their town/city for a specialty liquor store isn't going to be impacted in a negative way. If anything, it will bring what those customers want a little closer.

People grossly underestimate the amount of smaller liquor stores in this state. The state is saturated with them to a fault. Norwalk doesn't need 20+ liquor stores. I'd rather have 10 and a bunch of new businesses open up in those spaces.
