"True Crime Is Rotting Our Brains: I would sooner get stabbed again than have someone make a podcast about me"

I think that's definitely one type, but I'm surprised that no one is mentioning the largest true crime demographic there is: moms. When I had my first child I fell down a rabbit hole of stories of missing and murdered children from the 50s up until now, trying to maybe learn from the "mistakes" of other parents who unfortunately had to lose a child in such a horrible way. It's probably not good for me to consume this kind of content, my husband has asked me several times to stop reading about these things because during my second pregnancy I would just sob uncontrollably every time I heard about a child that was kidnapped or harmed in anyway. But hearing about these stories makes me feel more confident with certain protective measures I'm taking with myself and my kids, and that helps me sleep better at night.
