“This ugly dude got a girlfriend, so there’s no reason you can’t”

If they are all actually the same

False premise. That's your problem. This "if" is not a worthwhile thought experiment.

Seeing them as "people" is entirely irrelevant. They do not have mind reading powers.

Another missed point. Seeing and relating to a person as a person is intrinsically valuable and helpful for people who, to absolutely no one's surprise, have difficulty connecting while not doing so. You don't do it to demonstrate that you're doing it. If that's the only reason you would consider doing so then, again, no surprise.

The more you devote yourself to these false premises and lapses in logic, the more trouble you will give to yourself. I can certainly appreciate that attractiveness is indeed a factor. But not only is it far from the only factor, it is not a static one either. All you are doing by hand-waving as being white knights, people who don't even fit the definition, is becoming incredibly practiced at lumping together and dismissing well-meaning individuals.

The desire to be related to on a human level is not a superpower. Nor is, when it really comes down to it, the ability to discern the genuine from the not so genuine. What is actually astounding here is your ability to conflate the everyday with the supernatural. People have a sense for when they're being spoken to as a person rather than as an indistinguishable member of the, as OP put it, extremely superficial and hypergamous sex. Must be talking about superpowers here... Guys who aren't super attractive but have girlfriends? Pure fantasy...
