(I want to preface this by letting everyone know this is just my personal opinion.)

You're in the wrong place to be actually making sense. I feel for you, I really do because the more sense you make the more you will be downvoted. I've come to the unfortunate realization (through more than one interaction) within this circle jerk of community, that its subscribers would rather torch you over the slightest infringement of what they call culturally aware (see sidebar) than consider your opinion while simultaneously declaring you narrow-minded.

TrollX is a community mostly made of women with the occasional "I love reading TrollX for the schmexy tips" man that chimes in to stroke their egos. So although I ultimately agree with you because your way seems more sensible they're all going to downvote the hell out of you while calling you misogynistic or anti-feminist or whatever.

Personally, I don't go to clubs. I never have and I've never enjoyed them. I was pretty conservative and religious growing up when it came to my beliefs about sex so obviously clubs were not my scene. I'm now happily married. However, as I try to put myself in the shoes of someone at a club or bar being talked to or hit on and beginning to feel uncomfortable I still feel the best route is to simply say, "Look, I am flattered - really. But I am uninterested. Thank you anyway!" I believe this is the most sensible thing to do and if it doesn't work then guess what? A crowd of MEN and WOMEN will work in my favour if things start to go awry. All I have to do is give a bouncer a heads up, another female friend, someone standing around me or (and this is a little crappy) another interested beau.

But alas, things do not work like that here in TrollX. Everything is worst case scenario. They'll slap a label on it and you like the comment by /user/smurgleburf. Harassment is pretty big stretch from someone merely talking to you as the picture says, but leave it to this community to turn into an entirely different demon. It is what they do. They are all like-minded and when something like this is posted they all jump on it then pat themselves on the back for such a great idea.

TL:DR No matter how realistic or reasonable you are if your opinion does not jive with the bulk of the subreddit itself you'll be downvoted to oblivion and then told how narrow-minded, insensitive, unaware, crass, cruel, rude, etc you are. The sad part is and I'm sure you've actually already noticed... It makes you feel legitimately crazy. Don't let it do that. It does not work like that in the real word. Only in a moderated community full of contemptible
