I have a BA in edu. and from what I've learned social media's best function is it acts as a catalyst for spreading social activist campaigns (esp. in 3rd world countries), but since you're in college IIRC you would learn a lot from joining a student club or organization and from taking political classes (once you start taking electives). Social media is useful in its own right, but it's hardly an alternative to joining political events in your local area. Humble beginnings. We are human, we exist in the real world, we learn from seeing eye-to-eye, in-person, not from shitposts on reddit lol. I mean, if you get validation from social media that's fine I guess, but again, nothing beats in-person interaction even if that's seen as "old-fashioned."
