Unpopular opinion: I don't get the Eric love

Coming outta lurk to say my reasons for liking Eric are going to seem so petty to some. One I do think he is cute, especially with the beard and he was playful and lighthearted..which leads me to my next point and possible petty reason: Eric makes people (especially some on this sub) uncomfortable af by just being a regular ass Black dude. I'm a Black woman who lives in a White neighborhood and if I spoke how Eric speaks all the time, in public, I know for a FACT my some of my neighbors would be uncomfortable. I know because I've let it slip a couple of times in convos and I get a look from them. I wonder why? Yeah he's laid back and casual and light hearted (god forbid a Black man not fall into one of the two appropriate stereotypes of strong stoic Black man or clown buffoon) and he speaks without code switching. No he isn't speaking eloquently, but I don't see too many people going in on Peter who sounded dumb as hell at times with his lazy way of speaking. He would not be a good Bachelor because a lot of America still likes to put people in boxes and we see how that turns out. So to all the people complaining that Eric has been deemed above reproach because he's Black, no it seems like a lot of people don't like him because he's a certain kind of Black guy that is unacceptable on mainstream tv to certain types of people. The same kind of people that think Kenny had no reason to be visibly angry with Lee and should have "been better than that."
