The Wainwright building downtown

Anytime you are near St. Louis stop by SIUE in Edwardsville Illinois. Richard Nickels collection of "Sullivan parts" is on display in the library and a few pieces outside. Also a quite a few items in the administration building. SIUE has a ton of Nickels stuff in storage including the entire front facade of the Albert Sullivan home which was one of Nickels favorite Sullivan works.

Also just down the road from SIUE in Edwardsville is the "Griffin House" designed by Walter and Marion Griffin for Walters brother Ralph. It is one of my favorite of Griffin's projects.

Also in St. Louis is the Wainwright, The Union Trust Building three blocks north of the Wainwright. And the Wainwright tomb near downtown St. Louis all by Sullivan. I believe that Wright and Elmslie were both with Sullivan when these works were done.

The St. Louis library has Adler & Sullivan's original tracings (not blueprints) from the wainwright tomb. I know Nikels had a friend at SIUE that took in his collection but its strange how all of these Chicago projects now reside in St. Louis because "Chicago" didn't want the stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://collections.carli.illinois.edu/digital/collection/sie_arch
