Washed up high school athletes of Reddit, what was the one game/play/match that you'll never forget?

A funny story that involved me in my first track meet. I tried to run track my senior year of high school, and the first race I ever got put into was a 4x600 at some SVSU meet. Basically I never worked on handoffs so I was completely lost until they tried to teach me before the race. The race starts and there are like 35 teams racing, so the track was packed. Before and right before the race I was a nervous wreck. I was shaking, and people on my team were telling me to calm down. The race starts and I am the second leg so I have to get the baton. Our first runner is coming through in around 6th place with 5 people close behind. My coach told me to assert my dominance in the lane when trying to receive the baton, but I ended up panicking and cut in front of everybody to go to the lane he was going to be in. While cutting in front of everybody, somebody ended up spiking my shoe. I didn't feel it at the time due to all the adrenaline, so I just took off. When I took off apparently the guy who's foot was on mine fell over and a massive pile of people were behind me. So now I had a hole in my shoe and it was flopping around so I kicked it off and decided to run with run shoe. So there are a pile of people behind a kid running with one shoe. I end up giving the baton in 8th place as 2 people pass me when I die from the race. I ended up running around a 1:31 which wasn't horrible for my first race. Coach was happy I ran a decent time, but told me my exchanges were shit and that I could've gotten out team disqualified. All in all one of the best memories that I still laugh about to this day.
