First of all this was 4 months ago, I never said you were wrong nor did I downvote you. All of this was speculation since all we've had to go on was just video footage and previous game knowlege. You should keep that word 'Speculation' in mind. Now one major thing that never crossed you mind but it was in the back of mine and several other people by the looks of the thread is that maybe Capcom might have changed the animations. This is pretty evident in Guild Style.
Guild Style now has a more clear and defined animation for an Overcharge and it also makes use of the charging pulse as Ping when you release it. It did have a slight animation (that is hard to miss and think there is no animation) in previous games but no audible pulse. You point out half of this in another comment. Another new thing for Guild Style is that it also get's a 3rd audible Charging Pulse so that's 3 Charging Pulses and an Overcharge animation. This was not present in previous games (You only had 2 Charging Pulses and that's it) so it is very easy to find this unusual and to maybe SPECULATE that there might be a 4th Charge (which I never said anything about, but others did). Lastly GS got a nerf in it's charging mechanic, you can't delay your 3rd Charge as much as you could in 4U and previous games. Your either release it close to the 3rd Charging Pulse or you Overcharge.
Striker Style ditches the Overcharge mechanic altogether so you get 3 Charging Pulses before the automatic release. Except now the automatic release keeps a Level 3 Charge. It now feels like the same delaying mechanic in 4U and previous games except without no consequences.
The Hunter in the video was using Striker Style and was probably demonstrating this mechanic for us. I own the game and I've compared both timings and they match up with Guild getting into Overcharge territory as Striker Style automatically releases a Level 3 Charged strike.
