I am so, so sorry for your loss. Sadly, my brother and I are no longer “pick up the phone and call” close but I would still feel like a large part of myself was missing if he departed the world. I hope that your family is able to get together and recall all of your favorite memories - and cry, and hold each other. My best friend took her own life about 10 years ago and we do that every year on a camping trip. It started as a way to get everyone together and have a proper memorial, and now it’s something we continue to do every year. We hike out to the spot we spread her ashes after we pack up camp. That way, we aren’t doing it with tears in our eyes.
