Weekend Trip to Raleigh

I just moved from New England (NE) as well a few months ago with my GF (both young also). We were looking for a change as well so naturally we tried to get away from our hometown lol. We moved to Cary and it’s been great for us since it’s conveniently close to all of the hot spots (for us at least) Raleigh, Apex, Morrisville, etc. The weather has been far more generous than up north and we’re still able to comfortably enjoy the outdoors at this time of the year where I feel like up north it would have already been borderline winter haha. There always seems like there are things/events to do in the triangle area so there’s not necessarily a reason to be bored over here from what we can find. The houses/communities over here we also find to be much more put together and affordable than up north also. Before moving over here we took two weeks to just drive around the areas that we were interested in and scope out the interactions with people in stores, shops, etc., we also looked at a lot of the communities for single family homes and parks to see if it’s something we can envision for the future. One thing I will say is that life does seem to move a lot slower here. The pace for us is certainly not as fast as it was in MA and while it does sound nice, it does take some adjusting. I would rent before buying over here just to see if this is a place that you could call home, chances are, that decision will be made apparent over the course of a lease. Oh, and also, there are flying roaches over here (some call them water bugs/palmetto bugs) they are totally harmless but my GF had a hard time seeing a few at a local park since they are quite big and one that flew around our complex haha. Overall, we’ve been happy with our move from NE though and it’s been treating us pretty well. Feel free to PM if you have any questions!
