Weekly Discussion Thread

A very big fuck you to my manager and my employer (the company). I was left with no support despite me telling them I'm struggling with mental health issues. Even after I quit, there was no one coming in for the transition and I am quite literally working until the night before my last day, which is tomorrow. I don't even want to say goodbye to anyone on my last day, literally gonna just dump everything and leave because of the amount of hate I have for this job and the incompetent management.

To my boss - I cannot forget how you shamed me during your company's interview. Stop acting like your company is so glorious when in reality you guys are just practicing modern slavery. Seeing your horrible attitude first-hand, I should have rejected that job offer. Lesson learned.

To my manager - Why do you even pretend to care about how I'm feeling? Did you think it helped to ask me "how are you today?" every fucking day, but with no action taken to relieve my load? I was still pushed to get work done anyway. You made an empty promise to me about reducing my workload only to keep working me because literally nobody from outside or within the team has the capacity to take on any more work. The management treated sick employees like trash.

Last time, I tried to see it from another perspective and told myself that the management is not to blame because our dept does not have enough manpower. That is not true. Actually, they do have manpower. See, they managed to find someone to replace me when I said I wanted to quit. They just wanted to utilize every employee as much as possible on different projects as long as you are not dead. They would rather push a sick person to work on the project than to make a replacement for the sick employee to get a break or something. I have seen good managers before and they really made sure you got whatever you needed for your health and development.

Our management is a farce. We engage in price wars to win projects and have to cut costs in our project budget. What cost are we talking about here? Labour cost. In the end, they couldn't afford to staff more experienced people on a tough project so they threw the inexperienced hires into the fire, making all of us struggle. The top management never cared to coach and guide. They just wanted to see good results. From... inexperienced hires. Sure, good luck with that. No way I'm going to participate in this madness for the meager salary.
