Hey all. What's the beat deal you've come across?

Story time. I'd been looking for a clean DC5 Type-S (RSX Type-S in US) for about 6-12 months. The conditions were that it had to be stock OEM and in my favourite Honda colour: Magnesium Metallic. Cleanest examples I've seen hovered around the 70,000km - 100,000km mark at best going for around $15-16k AUD. By the end I was looking Australia wide and willing to ship interstate if the right one was found and able to be remotely inspected by a recognised inspection body. I was never confident enough to buy any that I looked into because there'd always be something that made me too hesitant to follow through; whether it be a munched interior, discoloured/misaligned panels, engine sound, dodgy modifications, shady personality of owner etc. Then one day one popped up on the premier car selling website in Australia. From the photos it looked to be a slightly different colour to what I wanted, but being that it only had 25,000km (which I thought was absolutely ridiculous) and that it was from a dealership located in the same state (no inspection hasles), I had to at least look at it in person. I'm glad I did because it ended up being the exact colour I wanted. The heavy lighting from the dealer photos made it seem a totally different shade. Anyway, I had to have it. I Didn't bother putting up much of an effort haggling the price because if I'm honest it was an absolute steal and I would've paid 10-15% over what it was going for if I had the money. Following the market for that long I knew if I didn't drop a deposit it was going to disappear within the week it was put up. 2006 last-model-year DC5 Type-S with only 25,000 kms on the odometer. Certified sale through Honda dealer with 3 year warranty included (unheard of for used cars here). The final figure was AUD $16,878. This might seem like a lot to anyone not from Australia but it really isn't. Direct currency conversions are pretty meaningless without considering CPI indexes as well as Australian median income, minimum wage, and cost of living. I'll put it simpler: everyone I've talked to about the purchase tells me to flip it for around $19k AUD and just get a turbo, but we all know there's no way in hell I'm doing that if I spent nearly a year looking for it. Back to the car; It came with registration and sales documents showing same registered owner from initial sale in 2006 up until trade in sale to the dealer in 2015 which the owner kept in the car manual pouch. Apparently it was kept as a weekend car which they ended up trading in to the dealer for new CRV; they also had recently acquired a company car but all of this could've just been dealer talk. However the car is completely OEM and immaculate inside and out, has a beautiful raspy high revving sound and nothing yet has made me think the car has had anything but a quiet history. I'd like to think you probably couldn't count on one hand the number of cleaner examples still on the road here in Australia and that to me is was made it the 'beat deal'.
