No photo because low light and my iPhone camera don't mix, but neutral fair skin, currently on the drier side of combination, prone to break outs.

Base

  • Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream : I was a bit sceptical about seeing any effect from this, but I like balance me and it was free with Glamour magazine so why not try it? Turns out it's pretty decent for adding extra coverage. My undereyes are my biggest problem area (inherited big deep trough and thin skin from my dad) and this creates a nice smooth base for make up and adds a little tint that, although not enough to disguise them alone, increases coverage when concealer is put on top without making it cakey. Pros :nice and moisturising, adds extra coverage where I need it most. Cons : Probably won't repurchase it when I run out because it's a nice extra rather than a necessity. 7.5/10

  • Kiko Full Coverage Concealer in 01 : Recently ran out of my usual spot concealer and wanted to try something less powdery. Sadly this one is excellent in texture but just a little yellow in tone for me. Works well enough and looks fine blended out but I'm anal about concealer colour. High coverage and good blendable texture. Won't repurchase when it's empty because of the slight mismatch though. Pros : Good texture, good coverage, long wearing. Cons : Not as close a colour match as I would like. 8/10

  • Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 115 : I won't go into huge detail on this one because I reviewed it before. Basically Pros : Good for dry undereye skin, good colour match for dark circle cancellation on me, good coverage, long lasting. Cons : Packaging seems to force product out under the lid and it bugs me. 9/10

Eyes

  • No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter : Tried it as an inner eye highlight because I hate it as a normal highlighter. Still didn't work. Seems to highlight every imperfection on the skin, slip around, crease and just looks a bit off. Good wear time though I'll give it that. Pros : Pretty soft lilacy pink shade, good wear time. Cons : Doesn't stay put, difficult to blend, highlights imperfections, creases when used near eyes. 2/10

  • Illamasqua Brow Cake in Peek : Great warm brown tone, ties my naturally ashy eyebrows into my hennaed hair very well. Very pigmented, doesn't budge until it's removed and the pan looks undented still despite daily use for a month now. Pros : Pigmented, long lasting, good natural looking warm tone for hair with ginger in it, easily buildable. Cons : Can be easy to go too heavy handed, for the price it would be nice to include a brush. 8.5/10

Lips and Cheeks

  • Topshop Cream Blusher in Morning Dew : I'm a huge fan of topshop blushers both cream and powder and this one is no different. Very pretty warm pink tone, but I believe it was limited edition which is a shame because it's a regular on my face. Will be sad when it runs out. Pros : Easily blendable, good level of pigmentation, cream to powder formula that doesn't get chalky but doesn't stay oily on the cheeks either. Cons : They don't make the colour anymore. 10/10

  • Kiko Campus Idol Urban Sheen Lipgloss in Fiery Poppy : I'm a big fan of sheer jelly reds and small portable lipsticks so this caught my eyes a couple of weeks back and for about £4.50 I found it hard to say no. Not really unique in colour, but pleasant enough in every way to be less than a fiver well spent. Pros : Lovely jelly like appearance, comfortable on the lips, pencil format so gives gloss without the sticky texture, very reasonably priced. Cons : Needs sharpening rather than being a twist up, not the longest lasting but reasonable for a translucent gloss. 7/10
