A similar thing happened to me in a hand of holdem about 10 or 15 years ago. Home game, .25/.50, I get dealt 9c9s on the button.

Don't remember the action but there were like 4 of us in the hand. Super loose mid 2000's play. I think it was 2008.

Flop was something like 476sss, can't remember any of the flop or turn action but it probably checked around twice because everyone gets scared on a monotone board.

Turn 5s, River 8s.

A full round of hollywood checks once more, there's a straight flush on the board but everyone sits there for like 30 seconds before each check and theres probably only like $8 in the pot. Gets to me on the river and my dumbass just shoves like $25 or $30 into the $8 pot. I get angry, berated folds from the guy who had 23ss(who had the bottom end of the straight flush on the turn), the guy who had the Ks, and someone who had JT with the Ts.

I had to show the 9s or I think the game was just gonna break right then and there (it was like 4 or 5am anyway). Whole hand was pretty nuts and I basically won the minimum but the entire table was fucking livid with me for some reason.
