How do I stop punting chip leader every time in MTTs?

I think stack size attack dynamics come into play lot more than people focus on. While you always need ICM, range, position, exploitative focuses, I think stack size as it pertains to who you get involved with is one of the most important things.

When you are the big stack, you should be attacking the short stacks at a way higher frequency than you attack the middle stacks that can do so much more damage to you if you lose a flip or even just a value bet/bluff pot.

Obviously, play your premiums and fold when you need to, but if you are on the button and the blinds are shorties, you should be putting pressure on them. If the SB is a medium/other big stack, play cautiously even if you have the chip lead.
