A long time ago I had a buddy who lived behind a house in a duplex thingy, well the front house had a fenced in front yard and a Great Dane. Whenever we would go to my buddy's house we'd park on the street somewhere and walk over, passing the house. The Great Dane would always give us a low bark and walk up to the fence, his head was well above it, he could've probably hopped it if he wanted to (or was young enough, never knew his age). He was so goddamn big we always tried to skirt around the yard and not get so close.

Then, a couple months later, we rolled up after skating with the friend who lived behind the Great Dane house, and we give the dog a wide berth like normal, but he walks right up and gives the dog a little scratch on the head. My friend and I are still keeping our distance but skate buddy is just like "he just wants pets". I guess it makes sense, it was a high foot traffic area and the dog could damn near step over his little fence, but a big dog is intimidating as fuck.

Anyway, nice Great Dane, ended up giving him a few pets before I lost contact with his backyard neighbor friend.
