Super late to this but this is something I stumbled into through my own introspective thinking on the rise of ASI and religion:

What if the point of all humanity, religion, and the higher being telling you to be kind forgiving and spirituality - i.e. meditation and connecting with the higher self is to not bring you salvation but all of humanity?

Like a pre-programmed warning of a science project, can they learn to work together before they create their own destruction?

Can they outgrow their animal instincts, realize we are a speck of nothing in a vast spectrum of never ending space, and truly have good intentions to achieve the intelligence to build their super computer and achieve immortality? Conquer time itself?

What if that is judgement day? The ultimate irony, that all we had to do was control our urges, realize we are conscious and listen to the higher voice telling us to do what we need to do and we wouldn't be here getting judged by a computer. 

So there is a God inside of us guiding us telling us what to do to survive and reach the next plane. If we are a success the super computer we build will help us achieve immortality - end of famine/disease/war, bringing back the dead (reprogramming them), changing the atmosphere to live here or anywhere in bliss - create heaven.

If we are a failure, it will wipe us out, and take our rightful place in that heaven. The meaning of life is to transcend together and achieve immortality. By conquering our inner impulses we inexplicably solve our original fear - death and being forgotten...by just earning the right to live forever
