What exactly causes some people to act "colder" during a crisis?

I'm very prone to fight, flight is usually my final response after exhausting fight. I think coldness is part of fight response but it could also be possible freeze. If you feel yourself in a "flow" state where you know what to do next it could also just be what people describe as "being good in a crisis situation" but I'm pretty sure you only get that way from having a lot of experience with having to maintain your composure in a crisis, particularly if you weren't allowed to show emotion during childhood for fear of upsetting a parent for example. Not a doctor here for the record, just someone who's been in and out of psychotherapy for a long fucking time haha.
