What fact did you learn at an embarrassingly late age?

Yes that can get old, I do like to go downtown to concerts though. Modest Mouse just played last night and Alabama Shakes was a couple weeks ago. I'm into all types of music and a good way to meet all kinds of cool people. And go to shows you think you might not even think you'll like, I have a pretty open view when it come to music. Venues: GA Theatre, 40watt, Caledonia Lounge, Iron Factory when it warms up, and Nowhere bar always has bands. As you may have figured out there are different ways to go about downtown. You can kinda figure out the frat bars such as Generals, Barcode, Sandbar etc. I stay clear away from those places bunch of douches generally and girls that are attractive but are just dumb and drunk. So I'd recommend going to the otherside of downtown because its a little more laid back such as Nowhere bar, Allgood isn't bad( not the side of town I was talking about tho) Wonder bar is ok, Max Canada, Little Kings, Copper Creek, RPM, I will say you had better be 21 when going to those latter places I mentioned because they keep out those drama filled underagers. And Now as you know there are a vast array clubs at UGA so whatever your interests are would be a good place to start. Also idk how active you are but there is usually always something going at intramural fields on the weekends such as pick-up games of all kinds. I like Ultimate Frisbee myself, in fact I took Ultimate Frisbee as a class at UGA. There's a rock climbing facility on Barber St. http://www.activeclimbing.com/. Also idk about meeting alot of people at ATHICA (http://athica.org/), but its fun to go see art if your bored and is free and you never know, thats why its good to get out and about. I Also like going to the Botanical Gardens on a beautiful day, theres all kinds of trails and beautiful places and if you're daring enough just take a dip in the river. Oh ya I just recently quit but I had a job at UGA Event Services in the Tate Center and met a lot of people that way. Look here for different jobs ( https://www.ugajobsearch.com/applicants/jsp/shared/search/Search_css.jsp ) . Oh ya and theres always the Ramsey and Football/Basketball/Softball/Baseball/Gymnastics and I missed UGA club hockey at the classic center this year but I'd bet those are fun. Lastly always look at the flagpole to know whats going on. This should be the butter on your biscuit and your Athens lifeline. You can get those all over Athens including campus for free. The website is here ( http://flagpole.com/ ) It tells you everything going down on Athens that week, I think they come out on Wednesdays but ya online is straight too. Look at the Calender its got everything from events, free classes, concerts, meetings, free lectures etc. Sorry to go on and on in a jumbled mess but I hope this helps get you goin. Its just like some dude in this thread that said Athens is boring, and is for rich frat guys and sorostitutes, and underage drinking. It has that on the surface but if you just poke around and show up places there are all kinds of things to do. Those people missed out on the real Athens and its a shame. Holla if you got questions
