Lifetime recently did a six part documentary about R Kelly and his rather public sexual history with young black girls. He married Aaliyah when she was underaged, had a sex tape years ago where he was peeing on an underaged girl, and there have been talks in recent years about a “sex cult” in which young black girls have been brainwashed/gone missing all while authorities and the public have kinda known about it. While all this has gone down he’s consistently called himself the pied piper of R&B, the pied piper being a figure known to use his flute to lure children away from their families.

Months back Spotify threatened to pull all his music from their platform (along with xxxtentacion’s music since he allegedly beat a pregnant woman) but this idea received a lot of backlash so they kept both artists’ music in their catalog. Now, after the airing of this Surviving R Kelly documentary, R Kelly’s Spotify streams have increased.
