What immediately made you lose a crush on someone?

I had a crush on this girl in HS for a while, and she actually talked to me first. I’d help her with homework outside of class, and we naturally started getting closer over time.

It seemed like she 100% absolutely liked me. We’d talk both in and out of school, she would text me selfies of her (nothing sexual), and she was really lovey-dovey. But, one day she just stopped talking to me.

I eventually found out that she and my best, oldest friend were talking about me behind my back. Double oof. It made me feel like an idiot, and the sting of betrayal sucked.

My friend had started to then treat me like shit, and my crush did too. Immediately losing the crush was the easy part.
