Late to the party, but in elementary we had a kid that was known for being really mean to everyone and always getting into trouble. I think in fifth grade he broke into our school and stole some things from the classroom. He continued to have trouble up until ninth grade where he disappeared. Then everyone found out he was wanted for breaking into homes all over town. It took a while, but he was caught and put in a half way home as punishment. It was then when we were around 16 years old I believe he broke out of the half way home and started living in the woods and breaking into vacation homes. For what was probably 2 years he broke into hundreds of homes. Stole boats and hopped to different islands (San Juan Islands). Then he taught himself how to fly small planes and started to steal those and fly across the nation. This was when his story got really big and national media started picking up the story and the FBI was after him. He eventually flew across the country. Then flew to the damn Bahamas where he was stealing boats and was finally caught. He's actually just getting out of prison on work release now I think.
