As a CISO, I believe that being good at my job requires more than just knowing about technology and cybersecurity. Yes, it's crucial to stay up-to-date with the latest threats and technologies, but being a successful CISO also means having strong leadership and communication skills.

I need to be able to explain technical stuff in a way that non-tech people can understand. I want to build trust with everyone involved in our organization and show them how cybersecurity helps us achieve our goals. It's also important to be proactive when it comes to identifying risks and taking steps to manage them before something bad happens.

Finally, I need to work closely with other leaders in the organization to make sure that cybersecurity is always top of mind. I need to show them how our cybersecurity strategy fits into the overall business plan and help them make decisions that balance risks with objectives.

All in all, being a good CISO is challenging, but it's also really important. I need to know a lot about technology and cybersecurity, but I also need to be able to communicate effectively, think proactively, and work collaboratively.
