When I moved to Berlin I was about B1 German and was scared. People on Reddit said “oh it’s fine Berlin is filled with foreigners you’ll be okay”.

Bro, it’s so hard. You get an apartment and it comes with nothing. No kitchen or lights... my apartment didn’t even come with a shower booth. Having to call electricians and internet companies and construction workers was not something I was prepared to do in German. Day to day, talking with neighbors and Government workers, sending packages at the post office, scheduling doctors appointments... Jesus. If I was A2 or something it would have been impossible. I have no idea how people move to Berlin without German knowledge.
