What is something people accept as normal but is actually fucked up?

To be fair, we as animals use electronics and dress in clothes and resist killing each other and eat overly processed foods and are into astronomy and religion and other things animals don't give a fuck about. It seems humans are only able to compare themselves to animals when it fits their motive.

If it were in everyone's everything to want kids, everyone would have them no matter what. And we wouldn't abuse our kids. Also, animals don't always like their offspring. Hence eating ones offspring. Or abandoning them. When you're not raised to believe your worth is based on eventually having kids, you don't often get that "I MUST HAVE CHILDREN IT IS ALL I AM I NEED IT AS MUCH AS I NEED FOOD" mentality. I wasn't taught to desire children. My biological clock tells me when it is time to do every day/every night bodily things, not to wreck havoc on itself by bearing offspring. The fact that pregnancy brain and beyond is a thing, and the fact that it doesn't always work out for mothers, nor fathers, is a great way of showing how much our actual brain, not to mention body, must change simply to DEAL with reproduction. The hormones never leave, but we still have dissatisfied parents. Most of this "biological urge to reproduce" is socially taught. Infertile people are more likely to commit suicide from not fitting into the standard "real man" or "real woman" roles. Offspring is a natural outcome of sex. Not a desire that makes sex happen. Sex feels good. Being a parent, ehhh it's.. all over the place.
