What is stopping you from getting a partner right now?

Life situations and lifestyle choices.

During the pandemic I basically had my whole industry fall apart and the business I worked with slowed to a crawl. In the meantime an elderly family members' health deteriorated to the point they needed full time care. With the timing of the pandemic, it was just most convenient for me to talk care of her.

There's no good way of explaining to a date that you had to quit your dream job to care for a 90+ year old relative. I'm doing 60+ hour weeks, exhausted mentally and emotionally when I get home, but it looks to people like I'm not working. It wasn't my first choice, but somebody had to care for her.

Combine that with the fact I don't drink and it makes dating even more awkward.
