Why are some people always single?

For myself,

  1. I was a late bloomer, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I didn’t really start dating until 17, almost 18 while most of my friends had multiple partners before then.

  2. I get to keep my peace of mind. I am still fairly young, but all of my partners had issues with pushing boundaries and/or lacked accountability.

  3. Romantic relationships are stressful and bad for my health. My most recent “partner” (which was really a very extended talking stage), and I argued far too much. It unfortunately caused me to have very high blood pressure.

  4. I like being alone, and am happier when single! I have honestly been enjoying my own company. During this time, I get to be “selfish.” I think I overextend myself in relationships, for partners who don’t do the same for me. I get to worry about tending to my own feelings, needs, and emotions instead of putting them on the back burner.

  5. I have not found a partner who is actually the effective communicator they claim to be and is also attentive and respectful of my feelings. Until then, I am completely okay with being alone.
