I like a man who is open minded and willing to challenge himself intellectually. I like long, deep conversations about politics and social issues so that is important to me.

I like a man with a goal. In my ten year long relationship, that had evolved from "the next promotion at the grocery store" to "getting into a great phd program". I don't need a Wall Street hot shot to sweep me into his Ferrari - I just want a partner in life who works on being better (like I do) every year.

I genuinely and truly like a nice guy, haha. A guy who holds doors open for people walking in behind us. One who helps friends move. One who gets me a thoughtful present at Christmas. One who makes small talk with the waiter. Just basic run of the mill nice human being stuff.

I also like a guy willing to try new things. My husband has gotten me interested in a lot of new stuff (WoW, mini painting, some tabletop games) and I've gotten him interested in new stuff (pro wrestling, standup comedy, concerts).
