Ovary torsion : A 5.3 cm cyst on my ovary twisted around my fallopian tubes, thus cutting off oxygen supply to my ovary. The pain was so high, my entire existence was just white. My eyes were rolling into the back of my head. All I could do was scream & hyperventilate as the waves of pain washed through me. The nurses didn’t believe my pain (hello, racial medical gaslighting), and didn’t give me morphine until 4 hours later. It took 4 separate shots, 10 mLs later, to feel any relief from the pain. Once transported by ambulance to another hospital on the next island over, they gave me IV drip hydromorphine. Surgery the next day. It was not good, loves.
