What was your dumbest injury?

The most painful one was while using my cousin's big roasting pan to cook a chicken. Mine is one of those enameled dark ones, hers had a glass lid that looked exactly like my crock pot. I pulled it out of the oven, set it down, then grabbed the lid bare handed because it looked like a crock pot lid and burned myself.

In the same kitchen a few months later I pulled one of her Pampered Chef stone roasters with a lid out of the oven. There are no vents so steam built up. I slid the lid over a bit to get a grip on it with two square pot holders and didn't give it a minute to vent. I burned the top of my hand as the steam escaped.

I've also grabbed dropped food off the coils of a 450° oven bare handed, fractured my toe running from the living room because the song on the TV bothered me and my husband wouldn't turn it off, fractured my hand by gesturing emphatically while talking and slamming it into the corner of a cabinet door, and pulled the side of my filled but not yet capped tooth with a caramel.

TLDR; In my experience steam burns hurt a thousand times worse than contact burns and I am very clumsy and empty-headed.
