What is your most traumatic experience with a teacher?

My sister told her teacher she had been sexually abused by my dad. The teacher did nothing about it, didn't report it to social services or anything. She just told my sister to tell my mother and my mother didn't believe her.

Had the teacher acted on it I wouldn't have been abused a few years later.

The teacher knew my sister had been abused and knew that I was her sister. I didn't know my sister had been abused.

I told the same teacher I had been abused, the same teacher did nothing about it and told me to tell my mother. My mother didn't believe me either.

Fast forward a few years and me and my sister finally find out what happened to each other and found out we both happened to tell the same teacher. We took the case to court and went to the school and asked them for the report the teacher should have made when we disclosed the abuse to them (two separate times). She didn't make a report either time so we couldn't use that as evidence in the case.

This resulted in both of us having to go to a re-trial because the jury found us not guilty the first time. Our lawyer said that the jury probably thought it was strange how we both went through the same thing 7 years a part and both 'told the school' but the school did nothing.

If that teacher had reported it the first time, I wouldn't have been abused.

If she had reported it the second time, neither of us would have gone to a re-trial.
