What is your opinion on EU asking Turkey that it open its borders to Syrian refugees in Aleppo?

Hi there. I'm a mod in /r/NeutralPolitics.

Like all submissions to this subreddit, your post is in the queue awaiting moderator approval.

It's an interesting issue and we're trying to encourage more non-US posts, but as it's currently composed, it does not quite conform to our submission rules. Would you be willing to edit it a little?

Basically, we ask submitters to pose more specific questions than "What is your opinion on x?" We call such questions, "taking the temperature" or "survey style" (depending on how they're framed), and although that's a legitimate thing to ask, our experience is that such questions don't generate focused discussions online. We prefer when submitters ask questions like:

  • What are the pros and cons of x?
  • What is the evidence supporting and opposing x policy?
  • Which parties stand to gain and lose from x proposal?

These types of questions framed in a balanced way and encourage the users to respond with something more substantive than an unsupported opinion.

All of that is a long way of asking if you'll rework the post to incorporate a more specific question. If you do, we'll be happy to approve it. Unfortunately, you'll have to resubmit the new version, because the offending language is in the title of this one and reddit doesn't allow editing of titles.

Thanks for participating.
