Discussion Topic: Watering - April 15, 2023

I live in an area that has well water. It's fine to drink, but the problem is that it's too mineral heavy for my plants. I was killing plants left and right, and noticing the roots were dying. I tried neglecting the plants more, watering them more, many died in the process.

I made the switch to distilled water, and got a big plastic bin to bottom water my plants, and now they're super happy. My succulents have a slow-release pellet fertilizer to make up for the lack of nutrients in the water.

My tropical plants, I add a super diluted amount of liquid fertilizer in the distilled water gallon.

So y'all that are on well water, wondering why your plants are dying, this could be why.

Frequency

My succulents, I'll typically go 1+ month before watering. They're made to survive this, I just give them a soak watering from the bottom every 1-2 months and they're thriving now!

So something to consider for those killing lots of plants!
