Wait who are the snobs? The ones who like soul glo or the ones that don’t? There are a lot of sweeping almost self loathing takes in this post. I can’t even decide if I disagree with you or not because it’s a bit confusing.

Hardcore lyrics are not always the most cerebral but I resent the idea that it’s not a lyrical genre. You made some really great points about tokenizing bands, but I think your post sums up why most people in this sub can’t get down with them. They come off as elitist. One does not need to be rich or intellectual to have an air of superiority.
