What's a good "boy who cried wolf" story you have?

A relative of mine used to take a shady route home back from school, and used to tell the family and the school that someone used to keep following her to try and get her to go home with him. However after months of going on and on, her parents finally took a stand as they'd been waiting down that area for ages after the first report, needless to say, they didn't exist and she admitted it was a complete hoax.

However, about a month passed till she walked home again saying someone had followed her however this time the additional lies such as him asking her to come home with her had stopped. I then got a message from her asking if i'd mind keeping her company along the way home as she didn't feel safe. I agreed and said i'd do it for a week, the first day passed and no one was in sight so I said 'you can't have lied again right' She was insistent she hadn't.

The next day I went and I was shocked, we turned round the corner and she just burst into tears, and this guy was sat on a bench staring at her, and she just screamed that it was him. This man immediately jumped into panic and ran. Turns out she wasn't lying this time.
