What's the point of doing anything anymore, when the world is ending in 20 or so years?

My husband was diagnosed terminal in February 2020 with stage IV cancer. They told him he has a year or two. He spends his days (since approved for SSDI) researching the latest cancer trials and anything else with potential to save his life. More importantly, he fills his days with things he enjoys like boating, spending time with our 2 year old daughter, mining crypto, etc. The point is, having a will to live life to the fullest, one day at a time. Lots of people thought the world would end in 1999, 2012 and that’s only the times when I was alive. I guess my point is, you’ve got to find your point. My point is trying to help my daughter to develop into a resilient, caring, knowledgeable and intelligent adult that values her life and the lives of others. What’s the point in not doing your best if you think there’s only 20 years left. I totally get your statement, just trying to offer a different perspective. Sending love.
