The fossil fuel economy is like a ubiquitous drug the whole world has willingly become addicted to over the past century

To put it into simple terms, the world is high and addicted on tech hopium right now. We are completely reliant on the exponential growth of technology to save the world. But have anyone ever thought of what happens if the growth cannot keep up with the population numbers and consumption levels? Almost all of the solutions to all the problems right now are purely hopium. Just look at how absurd it is, from colonizing mars, nuclear fusion reactors to even switching consumption to more green products like electric vehicles (courtesy of conmen like Elon Musk). All of these stuff are 100% sci fic, vaporware and snake oil.

Getting high on tech hopium is not going to solve anything and what we need right now is start taking action like change the economic system and consumption habits.
