The people in charge do know what's happening. Oligarchs, world leaders, presidents, they get information on a lot of things, and climate change and societal stability is definitely a part of it.

I'm not trying to drown out your hope, I held out hope for nearly five years. You need to work through how you use and focus your hope in your own way. Just please, don't let hope for stopping this or changing this be a critical part of the way you're finding meaning, don't let it be the largest most consuming feeling you're having. If you let it get too out of control in terms of how much you need these things to be able to change, it will make your struggle much worse.

There are so many other things that you can be hopeful about. So if and when you're you want to focus some hope on something other than this, please know there is still so much meaning and beauty in humanity and this world. No matter what happens with this insane political and economic shit show, you can still have a life full of some of the best parts of humanity. It's there, it's just about realigning perspective, which I know is hard, but I did manage to do it, and I was in one hellscape of an internal struggle about needing to be able to change this slow motion train wreck.
