What's a sensation that you're unsure if other people experience?

When I was younger I really struggled with being extremely empathetic. Most people think this is a good quality to have but it can be really harmful to both your physical and mental health.

It first became apparent at junior school but at high school it was almost unbearable. I was a bit of an agony aunt to my friends but didn't know how to offload the problems that they had confided in me. It resulted in a suicide attempt and extreme anxiety.

I'm now a nurse and whilst this can be quite draining I have learnt ways to keep myself healthy whilst still helping others. Sometimes I will still struggle with things like books and movies, or if I haven't had a chance to steel myself before speaking to someone but generally things are much better.
