Areas To Save
Paper - I have to print everything out, sign it and then scan that so I can email it all the while archiving my copy. Then whoever receives the email also prints it out and sticks it into a folder.
Stop changing guns. In 19 years we have gone from Magnum 357 to S&W 5906 to SW .40 now to Sig Sauer P320 9mm.
No other areas really the Department works on a shoestring budget where close to 75% of the budget goes into salaries. When we get new cars which is about every 4 years it is usually from a special assignment of funds for that purpose.
Areas to spend.
Vest - Most of our vest are 10 years old. Mine are newish because I turned mine in and got my own.
Salary - You know it is bad when the federal government steps in to tell the Department to give raises.
Training - we have tons of training but are lacking in 2 key areas. Medical and driving
Bodycams - Please get them already or at least change policy so I can buy one.
