Google will pay top execs $1 million each after declining to boost workers’ pay

Oddly enough, I'm completely at odds with our current union.

The Job I'm at has a large number of old union employees, and they actively fight to keep new employees as temp contract workers so that if anything happens in the market we are the first to be fired and they keep their jobs.

Union stopped me from being a successful candidate to a posted position because it threatened one of their older workers.

Union keeps us out of benefits and pension as a playing card during negotiations. "We get 2% raise this year, and we give up benefits for temp contract workers"

There are people at my job who have been temporary contract for 5+ years. & Years defined as "short term temp worker".

With that said, I'm sure other unions are better places.
