Where would Texas program be today if Mack was still the head coach

read what i wrote. worst defense in school history. worst group of players to ever put on a Texas uniform. they couldnt tackle. it was embarrassing. Did you forget about when Mack talked about the "tackling epidemic" sweeping college football? lol it was painful to watch. how much could those numbers mean when the 6th ranked defense got Texas a 5 win season?

Wait... so you're basing your opinion on an eye ball evaluation of the defense rather than actual statistical results? The numbers don't lie. I mean, your opinion can be whatever you want but the facts are the facts and this Texas squad is far worse defensively than any defense Mack ever had, including the Manny Diaz defense. There is just no meaningful statistical category where this defense is better than the squad you keep claiming was the worst ever.

BYU? are you serious? each class mack pulled in was shittier and shitter. no matter what their recruiting rank says, the payers werent that good. once strong (or another coach) gets better players in there, Texas will be better.

You keep making the same basic argument that Strong is performing poorly because he is at a talent deficit. So are you honestly seriously suggesting that Texas has 24 points less talent than Iowa State? Seriously? Or that Texas is at such a talent deficit compared to Arkansas that 59 yards of total offense is something we should expect? Come on. Texas may have a talent deficit against top teams but the performance on the field is coaching.

Wishful thinking is seeing what has transpired under Charlie Strong and believing he has what it takes to win here and in the Big 12. He's done nothing in his entire career to indicate that you should feel confident in his ability to field a prolific offense. And based on the progress on the defensive side of the ball I would not expect Texas to field a prolific defense until 2017.
