Who are the "fake gurus" here in the Philippines?

I think calling them fake gurus is not the right way to see things since it is hard to judge fake vs real. Humans are very poor in judging other people’s level of competence as we tend to overestimate our own.

My perspective is that if you hire someone who teaches for a living aka “guru”, it is like hiring a consultant with little/zero work experience to run your business.

They can tell you how you should do things “the right way” (since it is by the book) but as they have so little/zero experience it will not end up great in most cases as they do not really know your actual situation.

Also they have an ulterior motive at the same time (that is to keep you paying every month) so they tend to put up a show for it (powerpoint/youtube, etc), delay things or make you fail and offer you another solution (intentionally).

On the other hand if you get a mentor (which is hard to find) then it is like hiring an employee with 10-25 years experience. They will know what you need and have enough knowledge and experience to teach you to solve it. However, finding a mentor is hard as most of then are already successful in their career and is not that interested in teaching for profit.
