Windows 8.1 system font changed to symbols (look kinda like wingdings), (image included)

Weird how that would happen on its own. The default font in Windows 8 is segoe. I can only think of two possibilities.

1) Your font actually got changed

2) Your segoe font is corrupted

If you can open Word or Notepad, neither should be using segoe by default, so if fonts look normal when you type in there, then you could try changing the font to segoe and see if it looks like wingdigs when you type. That would indicate a bad font. If it looks normal, then I suppose somehow your system font got actually changed. If that is the case, then here is the default registry key. You would just save it to a .reg file and double click it to have it overwrite what is in your registry now, then reboot. (hopefully reddit doesn't bang up the formatting too much)
