That said, I still don’t think that watching the Kardashians is a sign of low intelligence either. Escapism can come in many forms - I don’t personally enjoy reality shows but it makes sense to me that someone might just want to turn their brain off for a bit in the evening and enjoy a program that doesn’t require much of them as a viewer. The Kardashians show gets used as a classic example of pretty vapid tv but is it really any dumber than like.. survivor or HIMYM or a football game? Watching the Red Wings lose certainly isn’t making me any smarter, I can tell you that much.
