[WSIG] As a traditional euro gamer, help me narrow down some thematic games?

slot> Can't go wrong with either or both Kemet and Cyclades. Kemet scales much better. Cyclades is not bad with less than five but I do find it a lesser game. Since I own games that play better at 2-4 range I only bust out Cyclades when we're at five. It more than makes up for that, those 5p nights are pretty great.

For me, Kemet is essentially the same game at 3-5. As you add players you add more competition for the power tiles and downtime, feel of play is largely the same. In Cyclades you remove gods from the auction track as you remove players. In a game where you bid for already limited actions, this is just too much for my taste.

You posted saying you like coops. If your desired play length isn't set in stone: consider Ghost Stories. I'd say 30 (if you die fast) to +60 (if you think a lot) minutes. 1-4, pretty good scaling. I find the actual 1-3 rules not to my liking, but it's easy to play with 1, 2 or 4 monks per player. Even with three player games we all pick a monk and designate a fourth one as a general team donkey.

[edit]words One thing to consider, with dungeon crawlers, is whether you want a campaign, or not. I considered Imperial Assault but was put off by that aspect, but fortunately the Conan game came on KS, so I backed that. For games you can get now along these lines, there is the D&D line: Castle Ravenloft, Wrath Of Ashardalon, Temple Of Elemental Evil, etc. These all have standalone adventures, and don't require you to play a continuous campaign, with the same people. Also, for Fury Of Dracula, check the playing time on the new edition. 2nd was always about 3 hours, but I think they have streamlined 3rd, so it might be in your time
